| Welcome to Atherton Bicycles. Boyd Atherton started the company in 1995 and has been making hand-built custom bicycles ever since. They come in all varieties road, mountain, track, cyclocross, single speed, BMX, 29 incher, tandem and… Well, you get the point we’ve built many different types of bicycles. We are probably most well known for our custom built bicycles for people of short stature. The first bicycle we built was for Verne Troyer “Mini-Me”. Verne and Boyd have been buddies since grade school. Anyway even though Verne is only 32” tall, his bike is not the smallest we’ve built! Don’t worry if you’re not a little person we can still build you a bicycle perfect for you. |  | |
| We build frames with both steel and aluminum. Most of the frames are built with Columbus, Easton or Ritchey tubing. In the past couple years we’ve been using carbon seatstays and even carbon chainstays on some frames. All of our steel frames are fillet-brazed and finished to perfection. In the past all of our frames have been powdercoated, making a very durable finish. In the past year we’ve started to have the frames powdercoated for the basecoat and then putting all the logos and any graphics on with paint. This makes an incredible finish, both beautiful and durable. | |
Atherton Factory BMX Team We’re putting together a factory team for the 2003 season. The team will be hitting many of the ABA Nationals chasing NAG numbers and maybe an occasional NBL National. Look for us to have about 5 or 6 riders on the main factory team and more than likely a co-factory team as well. List of other sponsors and rooster coming soon. |
