Bike Check: Andi Kolb's World Cup Winning AM.200M

AK: I still can’t believe what happened on race day. It was insane! After Semi-finals I felt like I was way too far off the pace and I was a bit worried about finals, but by warm-up, I’d started to relax and feel more confident again…

I started my run real strong with a strong first off-camber and I started to push more and more, that’s one of the best things about the AM.200.M it’s so calm on the brakes so you can really PUSH! In the famous stump section I wanted a bit too much and made two costly mistakes. I had to pedal hard onto the motorway to make up time again. Luckily I knew my strongest section the steep woods were still to come.

As soon as I jumped into the woods and the crowd got absolute mental I gave it my absolute best, the bike was a huge advantage in that gnarly woods section! Crossing the line with a big lead and everyone cheering was the best! I knew I’d done enough for a podium, but I thought the mistake on the top would cost me the win. It was crazy to wait till the last rider and then realise that I really won. It still feels unreal!!
