The Role
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial records and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards. Answering to the Head of Finance this role suits someone who is organised, detail-focused, and confident working independently.
Key Responsibilities
•Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
•Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
•Reconcile bank and credit card statements
•Prepare and issue invoices; manage credit control
•Input of purchase invoices
•Prepare and submit VAT returns
•Maintain records for HMRC compliance
•Payroll, including PAYE and pensions
•Support month-end and year-end reporting
•Liaise with external accountants as required
•Assistance with collating Grant claim evidence
•Assistance with Office of National Statistics forms when needed
•Assistance with shareholder reporting and comm
•General company filing
Must have
•Proven experience as a Book-keeper in the UK
•Good understanding of UK accounting practices
•Experience with VAT returns and HMRC requirements
•Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Zoho)
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy
•Ability to manage confidential information
•Good communication and organisational skills
Nice to have
•AAT qualification (or working towards)
•Experience with payroll and auto-enrolment pensions
