Our downhill bike frames are hand built in the UK and optimised for strength.
All S-Series bikes are made entirely from Aluminium 7075 with CNC-manufactured lugs. A small hit on weight (hey this a DH bike!) compared to our carbon and titanium frames is balanced by even greater impact durability and lower cost.
The S.200 features the DW4 suspension platform for great performance compatible with a “chuck it in the van” maintenance schedule.
Lug and tube construction means that we can continue to offer a huge range of sizing, bringing to bear 20 years of elite race team experience on how perfect-fit improves performance and rider confidence. The S.200 incorporates all our race team learnings to date on world-beating DH geometry combined with feedback from customers riding in some of the world’s toughest locations.
Aluminium grade 7075 has superior ultimate and fatigue strength to other grades of aluminium but it can’t be welded so it isn’t typically used in bike manufacture – because we bond all of our frames we can choose 7075 – a huge deal for us as we’ve seen way too may warranty claims heading to our competitors.
WHICH ONE'S FOR YOU?
S.200.1
Our flagship S.200 build features Fox Factory DHX2 with a steel coil, Fox 40s and a mixed Sram drivetrain with GX cassette and XO1 upgrades where the performance benefits are strongest. Stans Flow EX3 are our race team favourites so you’ll find them here with Conti Kryptotals and Hayes Dominion A4 brakes.
S.200.2
S200.2 Build 2 has Fox Performance DHX2 and Fox 40 Performance with a Sram GX drivetrain for a super-rugged set-up. Stans wheels ( S2) and race team choice Continental Kryptotals to proceed at speed and Hayes brakes for slamming on the anchors.
S.200.3
S.200.3 Our build 3 is the most accessibly priced, with Rockshox Vivid on the rear and Rockshox Boxxer upfront. Like build 2 there’s a Sram GX drivetrain, Stans S2 wheels, Hayes Dominion A4 brakes and Continental Kryptotals.
S.200 FRAME
Like our build 1 set-up, our frameset option includes a Fox Factory DHX2 with a steel coil which works brilliantly with the DW4 linkage for an out of this world DH experience.
So impressed with how the S.200 handled the Red Bull Hardline course, the hits were insane. People were saying how risky it was to showcase a new bike at Hardline but we were always confident in what it could do - and it's fair to say it passed the test.

If I was buying a bike retail with my own money, this is defo the bike I'd buy.
Ben Lovell
Stoked to be riding the S.200 here at Hardline. We know how capable the bike is from testing, but this is the first time it will have to prove itself on anything as hard as this.
This thing rips! I took a build 3 for a months hard riding in New Zealand and it didn't miss a beat. The 7075 aluminium provides loads of pop when jumping and boosting lips, but then the DW4 link makes for a fast, plush ride with great small bump sensitivity. One thing I noticed was just how predictable the bike was, which made for a hugely confidence inspiring ride - really, really stoked on this one!

FEATURES
PERFECT FIT
A bike that fits you perfectly will instantly make you feel more confident and transform your performance and progression – we offer 12 standard sizes from 410mm to 520mm.
LIFETIME WARRANTY
We use an infinite-life approach to design, ensuring that peak stresses are always below the fatigue run-out strength. This means your S.200 will be a bike for life, and we back that claim with a lifetime warranty. Bespoke EFBE Tri-tests with the toughest standards from both Cat 4 and 5 ensure we’re hitting the spot.
DW4 KINEMATIC
The progressive nature of the DW4 kinematic mirrors A.200, eating up Red Bull Hardline’s biggest drops, with good support in the mid-stroke for optimal ride height and good small bump sensitivity.
DESIGNED BY CHAMPIONS...
Years of Atherton race domination inform our DH geometry. The S.200 is based upon the geo of our World Championship winning A.200 and tested at Dyfi Bike Park to ensure best –ever bike handling and maximum fun.
NO THREADS, NO PROBLEM
There’s nothing so annoying as a stripped thread – so the only threaded parts you’ll find on our bikes are the bottom bracket and protective covers, you’ll never have to hunt a custom part again.
We like simplicity and our design process is guided by engineering principles, this means the way our bikes look directly relates to how they will be strongest and perform best. We use the most cutting-edge technologies to make sure that your Atherton bike will be perfect for you and your riding…we’ve always dreamed that our bikes would be more accessible to more riders and our new aluminium range achieves just that.

S.200 now available to buy online
Fresh on the heels of Gee Atherton’s impressive Finals run at last week’s Red Bull Hardline, Atherton Bikes have opened sales on their e-commerce site with full build prices from £4,999.00, $5,248.95*, €5,019.83* and the promise that the S.200 also brings the goods in the park.
Surviving Hardline
Speeds were high… 80km through the speed trap and racing was super tight, with Jackson Goldstone taking the win by the smallest margin in Hardline history. Gee and the S200 were well up to pace, especially in the rapid bottom sector of the track.
S.200 Bike Check with Gee Atherton
“Very excited, stoked to be riding the S.200 here at Hardline, obviously we know how capable the bike is from testing but this is the first time it will have to prove itself on anything as hard as this. The track is a real mix of big hits, huge gaps and high-speed tech as well as small, rough choppy sections where you need a lot of traction so it will test almost everything on the bike."
