Enduro Mag Exclusive Test: Atherton S.200... The Perfect Bike Park Rig
12 June 2025
Last month, the guys from Endura Mag travelled from Germany to visit our factory and find out more about our 2025 World Cup choice, the A.200.G.
While they were here, they enjoyed a couple of relaxing nights at Staylittle Lodge and a few days testing our new S.200 at Dyfi Bike Park, and they liked it a lot! Here’s what Editor-in-Chief Peter Walker and Tester Timo Walter had to say about our super-tough Bike Park Machine.
PW: When you hop onto the Atherton S.200, the bike delivers exactly what you’d expect from a bike-park specific downhill machine. Atherton prioritise perfect-fit with an exceptionally wide range of 12 standard sizes on their DH bikes, so the S.200 places you centrally on the bike and deep into the suspension travel. Within just a few metres, it feels intuitive and familiar and inspires confidence from the get-go, particularly on fast, rough descents.
Despite the plush set-up, it still offers plenty of pop off lips and ledges, making it easy to gap small obstacles or catch serious airtime over jumps. It handles hard landings well, absorbing impacts without harsh feedback to the rider. Noise levels are pleasantly low, only under heavy impacts we noticed a little chain slap, but that was quickly fixed with some extra mastic tape.

Conclusion
The S.200 is robust, simple and stripped down to the essentials. In the Bike Park, it inspires confidence and feels right at home from the very start of our ride. Rock gardens and braking bumps are effortlessly ironed out, and while the suspension isn’t as sensitive as the A.200, it provides plenty of pop. As a result, you can have a lot of fun with the S.200 without needing much time at all to get used to it. The Atherton S.200 rides every bit as tough and straight-forward on the trail as it looks at first glance, delivering on its promise to be the perfect Bike Park Rig.
